Saint John Paul II Academy has a great resource for students in our pastoral care team according to the precepts of the Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World, Gaudium et Spes. This document defines "pastoral care" as using "not only theological principles, but also of the findings of the secular sciences, especially of psychology and sociology, so that the faithful may be brought to a more adequate and mature life of faith."
Our pastoral care team can provide counseling, spiritual direction, and support services to students if they desire it. Approximately 20% of students at Saint John Paul II Academy actively seek pastoral counseling and/or spiritual direction. The team consists of:
