Welcome to Saint John Paul II Academy!



The SJPII Parent Association (SJPPA) Board would like to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year at Saint John Paul II Academy!

Who are we?

The SJPPA assists school administration and our parents to spread school spirit, complete various improvement projects, assist with parent/teacher relationships and help solve any parental concerns. We act as a communication support system between parents and school administration. We were previously known as the Home & School Association but changed our name last year after some parents indicated their confusion over it.

What do we do?

We help fund some of the various events used to assist our student’s development. This year we will help fund the Ray Dass Prep course to be used by all students to prepare for ACT and SAT tests. Last year, we used some of our funds to remodel the teacher’s lounge.

We also organize volunteers to improve the school’s daily life for the faculty and the students. We honor our teachers with quarterly luncheons. We open the school store for students involved in after school activities. We assist with Homecoming, Class Retreats and Prom.

Where do we get our funding?

fund our endeavors through sales from our Campus Store, which is located next to the Media Center at the back of the school across from the gymnasium. We encourage you and our students to stop by and pick up your SJPII spirit gear. This is also where you can purchase the “school ties” required on formal dress days and PE uniforms (new this school year). Finally, we sell snack foods for students after school.

What can you do?

Join our organization as a volunteer! We know it is difficult for some of us who work and it is hard to commit full time, but you don’t need to. We have several committees to choose from: Campus Store worker, Hospitality (baked goods for teacher’s luncheons and events), Spiritual Life, Christmas Angel Program, SJPII Spirit, and Class Representatives for each class. You can also volunteer to be an Officer on the Home & School Board. (All are great ways to earn service hours.)

We encourage you to attend our meetings. Let your voice be heard and leave your mark on our school! Our meetings are held the second Wednesday of every other month at 7:00pm. Our meeting dates are as follows: September 13th, November 8th, January 10th, March 14th and May 9th. The meetings are usually held in the Media Center. Information about the meetings is included in the weekly “Eblast” from Mr. Bernot on the Friday before each meeting to remind you. Come join us and learn what is happening around our school.
